DEFRA announce new funding scheme to assist farmers’ productivity.

Farming Equipment & Technology Fund

Defra have released a new scheme on 16th November 2021 where farmers can apply from the government’s £27 million pound fund which is to help with investment in productivity-boosting equipment.  Farmers and growers are being encouraged to make use of this new funding to help the industry become more productive and resilient.

The fund is split into two sections. 

1) The Farming Equipment and Technology fund will target smaller grants for such things as livestock handling equipment and resource management equipment.  The grant aid from this fund is between £2k and £25k and the deadline for applications is 7 January 2022.

2) The Farming Transformation Fund which will provide grants from £35k and up to £500k for:

  • Water Management
  • Improving Farm Productivity
  • Adding Value

The deadline for this round is 30 June 2022.
